Search Intent
Definition:
Search intent is the reason why a user types a query into a search engine (to learn something, buy something, or find a specific website).
Types: informational, navigational, commercial, transactional
Example:
“How does solar energy work?” → informational intent
“Buy running shoes online” → transactional intent

Keyword Cannibalization
Definition:
Keyword cannibalization happens when multiple pages on the same website compete for the same keyword, confusing search engines and weakening rankings.
Example:
A blog has two articles titled:
“Best SEO Tools for Beginners”
“Top SEO Tools for Beginners”
Both try to rank for the same keyword, so neither performs well.

Organic Traffic
Definition:
Organic traffic refers to visitors who come to a website through unpaid search engine results.
Example:
If a user finds your article on Google and clicks it without seeing an ad, that visit counts as organic traffic.

Click-through rate (CTR)
Definition:
CTR is the percentage of people who click a link after seeing it in search results.
Formula:
Clicks ÷ Impressions x 100
Example:
If 100 people see your page in Google results and 8 click it, your CTR is 8%.

Backlink
Definition:
A backlink is a link from another website that points to your site. Search engines see backlinks as signals of trust and authority.
Example:
A well-known marketing blog links to your SEO article—this backlink can improve your rankings.
