anesthesia — medication given to prevent pain during surgery or medical procedures, either locally or generally
prognosis — a medical opinion about the likely outcome or course of a disease or condition
triage — the process of sorting patients based on the urgency of their condition to prioritize treatment
chronic — a condition that persists for a long time or constantly recurs, as opposed to acute
acute — a condition that comes on suddenly and is severe or intense, as opposed to chronic
comorbidity — the simultaneous presence of two or more medical conditions in the same patient
contraindication — a specific condition or factor that makes a particular treatment or medication inadvisable
discharge — the official release of a patient from a hospital or medical facility after receiving treatment
